The First Annual Crystal Ball raised $130,000

Our first annual Crystal Ball was a great success. $117,500 was raised for Muscular Dystrophy Research. In addition, a special auction raised $12,500 to help fund the annual Muscular Dystrophy summer camp. We are excited about our plans for 2003 and our Second Annual Gala. The goal of this exciting event is to raise $200,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Research. Much has been accomplished in the race for a cure for this horrible, devastating, muscle wasting disease; however, there still is NO CURE for Muscular Dystrophy. Seeing first hand how this disease affects children and young adults is heart breaking. What is most frustrating, is that it is no longer technology that is keeping us from a cure but the money. Please help us accomplish this goal and find a cure for this terrible disease that attacks innocent children.

We would greatly appreciate your support of this event. Attached you will find information on sponsorships and program advertising. In addition, we are asking for donations to be used as live and silent auction items.

Thank you so very much for your consideration and we hope you will join us for this special night when we look into the future for a cure.

The KIA Raffle Winner

Retired postal worker, Deloris Hargrow is the winner of the 2002 Kia Rio donated by Lynnhaven Lincoln Mercury Kia to help raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy Research through the Crystal BAll Event. When Mrs. Hargrow was phoned to tell her she had the winning ticket - she thought it was a telemarketer and did not come to the phone. On Monday she found out it was legitimate and that she had indeed won the car. She had purchased the ticket from Kathie Carter of Templeton Associates where Mrs. Hargrow had been delivering the U.S. mail for 14 years.
